Agence France-Presse opened at the beginning of 2015 an office in Doha, making AFP the first of the "big three" historic general news agencies to have a fully-fledged bureau in Qatar.
The roles are an exciting opportunity to be a part of AFP's fast-growing fact-checking network, which has seen it take a leading role in the global fight against fake news.
The reporter position requires an agile journalist who can easily navigate online disinformation, whether that be on major social media platforms such as Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, TikTok and discussion boards or encrypted chat apps.
The editor will focus on misinformation in Asia and edit fact-checking stories from around the region. Applicants must have strong digital investigation skills and demonstrated experience in digital verification techniques and tools. Strong editing skills and solid news judgement are a must. Asian languages are a plus.
